A Report on Rainbow Day

Rainbow Day was observed on 29th May 2026 (Friday) by the Pre-Primary Department with the belief that every child is unique, special, and vibrant in their own way. Students and teachers came dressed in bright and colourful outfits, transforming the school into a beautiful spectrum of colours and packed lunch.

The theme was explored through various perspectives:

1. Biblical Significance: The celebration was inspired by Genesis 9:13, which states, “I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.”

2. The Rainbow Bridge Legend: Students were introduced to the popular lore of the Rainbow Bridge, which tells of beloved pets crossing a beautiful rainbow bridge after they pass away, where they wait peacefully until they are reunited with their owners.

3. Scientific Explanation: Students learned about the scientific formation of rainbows

4. Character Building: The celebration encouraged the Little Burnies to spread kindness, joy, and encouragement, inspiring them to become a source of hope and happiness in the lives of others.

Each class participated in activities tailored to the developmental abilities of the students:

1. Nursery: Hand-printed rainbow activity.

2. LKG: Creation of vibrant rainbow crowns.

3. UKG: Rainbow colouring fan activity.

4. Class I: Artwork using rainbow-themed worksheets.

5. Class II: Colouring and storytelling activities.

These activities fostered the development of various domains, including cognitive, physical, aesthetic, creative, and socio-emotional skills. Through art, craft, colouring, and storytelling, students enhanced their fine motor skills, creativity, imagination, communication abilities, and teamwork. The activities also provided opportunities for self-expression while promoting sharing, cooperation, and collaborative learning.

Conclusion

Rainbow Day was a meaningful co-curricular celebration that successfully combined learning, creativity, and character development. Through engaging activities and meaningful discussions, students gained a deeper understanding of the rainbow’s spiritual, cultural, and scientific significance. The programme not only nurtured essential developmental skills but also reinforced the values of kindness, empathy, inclusivity, and friendship. The day concluded on a joyful note, leaving students inspired to embrace their individuality and strive to be a source of positivity and hope in the lives of others.
