1. Introduction

As a part of the SEWA (Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action) programme, the students of Class X undertook a project on “Cleanliness and Sanitation.” The activity aimed to promote hygiene practices, maintain a clean school environment, and create awareness among students about their role in ensuring sanitation.

2. Objectives of the Project

  • To spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness in maintaining good health.
  • To keep the school premises clean and hygienic.
  • To encourage teamwork and responsibility among students.
  • To develop life skills such as cooperation, leadership, and community participation.
  • To inculcate respect for public spaces.

3. Activities Conducted

On 21st  November 2025, Class X students actively participated in various cleanliness and sanitation-related activities under the guidance of sir ZL, sir CP, sir GT, miss TL, sir PS, sir PT, Ma’am RZ, sir HM, and Ma’am SC.

a. Campus Cleaning

  • Students cleaned classrooms, corridors, playground areas, and surrounding spaces.
  • Dustbins were emptied and properly washed.
  • White board, desks, and windows were wiped.

b. Washroom Hygiene Check

  • Students inspected school washrooms and assisted in basic cleaning.
  • They ensured that soap, water, and sanitation supplies were available.

c. Waste Segregation Drive

  • Students segregated waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories.
  • Dustbins were labelled (Blue, Green, Yellow, Red) for proper disposal.

4. Learning Outcomes

Through this SEWA project, students learned:

  • The importance of personal and environmental hygiene.
  • Practical skills for maintaining cleanliness.
  • Teamwork, responsibility, and respect for the school environment.
  • The significance of waste segregation and sanitation practices.
  • Leadership and cooperation while working in groups.

5. Reflection

The students expressed that the activity helped them understand the value of a clean environment and motivated them to continue practicing cleanliness at home and in the community. They felt proud to contribute positively to their school and enjoyed working together as a team.

6. Conclusion

The SEWA project on “Cleanliness and Sanitation” was successfully conducted by Class X on 20th November 2025. The activity strengthened students’ commitment to maintaining hygiene and inspired a sense of responsibility towards their surroundings. It proved to be a meaningful and impactful learning experience.
