The workshop on Inclusive Education conducted with CCI was was conducted on 1st May, 2026 practical.
The session focused on introducing the core concepts of inclusive education, along with an overview of different types of disabilities and their implications in classroom settings. Teachers actively engaged in discussions and reflections on creating supportive and inclusive learning environments for all students.
This initiative forms part of a structured 16-hour capacity-building program designed to strengthen inclusive teaching practices and promote equitable education. Additional training sessions will continue in the coming days.
The session also addresses the ‘what’ and ‘who’ of inclusive education, covering a range of disabilities including physical, sensory, intellectual, and learning disabilities. Through this session, learners learned how to identify these different disabilities and understood their implications for individuals, along with strategies that can be implemented.
Most importantly, it gave learners insight into the relevance of this approach in schools and classrooms, especially since each class has at least one or two students with diverse needs in every pre-primary class.
The workshop was highly valuable. The school look forward to the next session, where learners will learn about the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of Inclusive Education.
